Case Study
The customer: Two primary schools in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
The brief: Two primary schools in Eastleigh, Hampshire, were merged, combining many aspects of their day-to-day running, and they needed to improve communication between the two sites and sets of staff.
Solutions were required to the following issues: contacting the head teacher and business manager, who served the two schools, across both sites while allowing each school to retain their separate names, identity and telephone numbers.
The schools also wanted members of staff to be able to contact each other easily and without incurring call charges.
The solution: Communications South installed an IP-based telecommunications system that provided an IP link between the schools, allowing them to hold and transfer calls between each site and to call internally between sites.
In order to install the IP-based telecommunications system and offer direct dialling for key members of staff, we upgraded the lines servicing the schools to digital ones.
